On-Farm Food Safety Workshop
Monday April 18, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Johnson Township Community Centre (Desbarats Arena)
Guest presenter: Colleen Haskins, Food Safety Programs Unit OMAFRA

Come to this in-class session to hear about good agricultural practices to improve on-farm food safety and how you can apply these practices to your operation. For those interested, there will be time designated after the session for open discussion or more operation specific questions.

Irrigation Workshop
Monday April 18, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Johnson Township Community Centre (Desbarats Arena)

Guest presenter Rebecca Shortt, OMAFRA Water Quantity Engineer, will lead the workshop. The workshop will begin with general irrigation information such as:
1. Developing a water supply
2. Permitting
3. Deciding between drip and overhead irrigation
The second part of the workshop will run through a drip irrigation example of how to calculate:
1. Your farm water requirements
2. Your plant water requirements
3. Your preferred irrigation scheduling tools and techniques
4. You will leave the workshop understanding how long to run your system and how to schedule for cooler days and various crop growth stages.
Please bring
• Your drip irrigation tape flow rate (GPM/100ft or GPH/emitter) – if you have it
• A calculator and a pencil.
