Six Northern Ontario agri-food producers will be representing the North during the Restaurant Canada Show 2020 in Toronto this March.
Led by Sault Ste. Marie’s Rural Agri-Innovation Network (RAIN), the delegation will include Boreal Berry Farm & Winery of Warren, Fromagerie Kapuskoise of Kapuskasing, Mountain Maple Products of St. Joseph Island, Penokean Hills Farms of the Algoma District, Purvis Fisheries of Manitoulin Island, and Quinta Quinoa, which is headquartered in southern Ontario, but grown in the North.
RAIN is a division of the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre.
The tradeshow, which draws close to 20,000 hospitality professionals, restauranteurs, and buyers from across Canada, provides an opportunity for producers to build brand awareness, generate sales, and network.

“This year will be our third time exhibiting at the Restaurant Canada Show, and it’s become a very important event for us,” said Nick Gordon, director of sales and marketing at Penokean Hills Farms, in a news release.
“Presenting our products on the biggest stage has helped us to make new connections, reach new markets, and maintain those relationships.”
In addition to the six exhibitors, Brianna Humphrey, owner of Radical Gardens in Timmins, will give a presentation on her experience owning and operating a catering company, food truck, and farm in Northern Ontario.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to watch it grow and evolve, watching various regions start to celebrate their terroir,” she said in the release. “It’s also been a pleasure to be a part of it and watch people become interested in northern food, venture up here, and check it out.”
Restaurant Canada Show 2020 runs March 1-3 at the Enercare Centre in Toronto.
