Species At Risk Farm Incentive Program Now Open for 2015

The Species At Risk Farm Incentive Program (SARFIP) has just been released and is accepting applications for 2015.

On the site you’ll find the Enrolment form, the Application form, the Supplementary Information forms and the Habitat Self-Assessment form (needed if applying for 60% or 80% cost share). These are available for download and printing.

Projects

Funding through SARFIP is available to support various projects that enhance environments. This includes reforestation, invasive plant species control, grazing management plans, remote livestock watering systems, native grassland planting, fencing to exclude livestock from woodland areas, alternate livestock watering systems, cross fencing for rotational grazing, wetland restoration, vegetated buffer strips, fencing to exclude livestock from water’s edge, improved stream crossings and erosion control structures along water’s edge. Eligibility

In order to be eligible, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be actively farming or own actively farmed land in Ontario
  2. Has completed an Environmental Farm Plan
  3. Has a valid Premises Identification Number (PID)
